| | Editing To Do field in backlog items
We are having a problem with updating the To Do field in backlog items. Sometimes the field can be edited, others not. It seems like if the backlog item is not assigned to a sprint that it can't be updated. Sometimes, even if it is in a sprint, it still can't be updated. Ideally we would like to be able to update with remaining effort even if not currently in a sprint. We have some backlog items that we worked partially in a previous sprint, but which aren't part of current plans because higher priority items take up all available resources. We changed the sprint field to empty for those so that we didn't have them assigned to past sprints. Perhaps that wasn't the best thing. 1. Can we update To Do for items not assigned to a sprint? 2.. Why do some items in the current sprint not allowing updating To Do? Brian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "VersionOne-users" group. Has the sprint in question been activated?

There are two fields that I can't update in the backlog item I'm looking at: Detail Estimate: To Do: Brian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "VersionOne-users" group. Be sure you understand your Tracking Level setting. By default, To Do and Detail Estimate are entered for tasks rather then backlog items. The numbers roll up on the backlog item, but are not editable there. It sounds like this is the situation you describe. If that's the case, it means you need to edit the tasks rather than the backlog item itself.

We haven't been creating tasks for the Backlog items. At this stage, I don't know that we would want to go back and create tasks for our BL items. Thanks for the info.
