Getting Started

Getting started provides new users with an overview of common actions
performed based on their role in the system
Select My Home in the main menu and click the Getting Started tab.
Select a common activity in the left box and the steps to complete
the activity will display to the right.
Perform the steps manually or select the “Go There” link at the
bottom to take you directly to the section/page.
My Work

My Work provides users with a configurable display of all assets the team
member is an owner on such as backlog items, tasks, tests, issues, requests,
etc. This provides a quick way to update hours on items the team member is
working on during an active sprint.
Select My Home in the main menu and click the My Work tab.
Select your name in the owners drop down.
Select customize to display various assets assigned to you. Check the
boxes on the left for assets you want to display in detail. Check the boxes
on the right for assets you want to display quick summaries for. To change
the order of the display, select the asset and drag it up or down in the
list and drop it.
Enter hours in the effort and to do hours columns in work item
summary, owned tasks, owned tests, or owned defects .
Select “nobody” in the owners drop down to pick up new tasks, tests,
or defects. Select the item you want to work on and update the owner by
editing the item or by customizing your display to show and edit owners.
Close tasks assigned to you when completed.
My Dashboard

My Dashboard provides the ability for a Member to customize reports and
metrics for multiple projects. The reports display information based on the
project selected in the project tree.
Select My Home in the main menu and click the My Dashboard tab.
Select Add in the My Project Summary section to add a report.
Select Configure to associate reports to a project other than the one
selected on the project tree or to rename the report.
My Notifications (My Inbox)

My Inbox allows you to receive notifications from inside the VersionOne
application. Notification messages are generated from any of the following
sources: The application automatically sends notifications in response to the
member's Subscriptions, and other members in the system manually send messages
via the "Send Message" action.
Select My Home in the main menu, click the My Notifications tab and click the
My Inbox submenu.
Clicking on the Subject displays the contents of the notification,
including text provided by the sender.
Select Send Message to proactively send notifications to other
VersionOne Members. These notifications are delivered regardless of
subscription settings and will be sent using RSS or Email if these delivery
options are enabled.
My Notifications (Subscriptions)
Subscriptions allows you to setup notifications on various assets within the
system.
Select My Home in the main menu, click the My Notifications tab and click the
Subscriptions submenu.
Expand each section to review available notifications.
Select Subscribe on the item you want to receive notifications for.
Select RSS Feed to receive your notifications outside of VersionOne.
My Preferences(Filters)

My Preferences allows you to establish preferences for receiving
notifications and viewing weekends on reports. You can also setup customized
filters that can be used throughout the system.
Select My Home in the main menu, click the My Preferences tab and click the
Filters submenu.
Select Add to create a unique filter that can be used throughout the
system.
My Preferences(Other)
Other allows you to establish preferences for receiving notifications and
viewing weekends on reports.
Select My Home in the main menu, click the My Preferences tab and click the
Other submenu.
Show Weekends - set this option to affect all daily graphs by
ignoring weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) in time-based graphs when set to
display days.
Notify via Email - set this option to receive Inbox notifications in
your email as well. This setting requires the system to be properly
configured to send notifications (see SMTP Configuration). This option is
also available to be set on the Member Details page. It is important to note
that the system will not generate any automatic notifications to a member
for actions that user takes themselves.
Show Notification Icon - set this option to see an icon in the upper
right corner next to your name when unread notifications are waiting for
you.
Enable Active Alert - set this option to see a temporary toaster
alert in the bottom right corner of the screen when new notifications
arrive.
