Symptoms:
After an install or upgrade to Release 6.3.8054, javascript errors occur on most pages when viewing the application from Internet Explorer. The error may say, "The download of the specified resource has failed."
No javascript errors occur when using Firefox.
Background:
For Internet Explorer, VersionOne uses MSXML to handle the AJAX requests in release 6.3. If MSXML 5.0 is the latest version of MSXML on your computer, then you will receive the error detailed above.
Users have also reported a related issue with MSXML 5.0, where the browser crashes with a reference to MSXML5.
Solution:
Upgrade to Release 6.3 build 8054.2 or later - see the Related Article at right for details.
In cases where the browser crashes with an error reference to MSXML5, clearing cookies from your browser cache may resolve the issue. Updating your system to MSXML 6.0, via your IT group, Windows Update or MS downloads, is recommended as it is far more stable than the prior version.
