Getting Started Overview
Get an overview of the application process and functionality from the Getting Started page. See the process flow, view key reports and perform admin actions directly from this initial view. Jump directly to any step in the process by clicking on the appropriate icon.
Product Planning
Define and manage the product backlog, including stories and defects. Rank items in the list against one another by dragging rows up or down the list or by using the multi-select checkboxes and the Rank selection.
Release Planning
Define one or more releases to run sequentially or concurrently and assign items from the Product Backlog into the release by physically dragging an item into a release or by using the multi-select checkboxes to assign several items at once. View the detailed list of the release's contents by expanding a release container. Reasign items from one release to another by simply dragging the appropriate item(s) into another release. View release burndown and trend reports to understand release progress.
Sprint Planning
Define and manage the project's sprint schedule. Schedule stories or defects into a sprint by physically dragging them into the sprint or by using the mult-select checkboxes to schedule several items at once. View the detailed list of the sprint's contents by expanding a sprint container. Reschedule items by simply dragging the appropriate item(s) into another sprint. View the team's velocity to guide the amount being planned for future sprints.
Sprint Tracking
Team members can track progress throughout the sprint using either a grid or card views. Update time estimates and track status updates to keep each other informed of progress. The Taskboard allows drag and drop task status tracking, while the Testboard allows drag and drop test status tracking. Tracking reports and views available to help communicate status include the Sprint Burndown, Standup Dashboard, and Test Trend.
Support Center
Get direct links to available resources including online help and the additional support materials contained on the VersionOne Community site: video tours, the support knowledge base, discussion forums and more.
Miscellaneous Features
- Change context to view the entire project or a single release at a time
- Use links to point any item to one or more external locations with additional information
- Attach one or more files directly to an item to provide additional detail
- Keep a running commentary through notes attached to specific items
- Update many items at once using multi-select checkboxes for common functions such as scheduling to sprints, assigning to releases or ranking items
- Update and save changes to multiple rows at once using inline editing within grid views
- Filter grid views to focus in on subsets of data
- Sort grid views by clicking on column headings
- Page through long lists of items in grid views
- View recent changes I've made to the data
- Enable or disable effort tracking within the system
- Customize terminology through the UI (for commonly-changed terms) or through simple text file editing
