Overview

Learn how to add and update Canvas images.

This tutorial assumes Canvas is up and running on localhost. Replace localhost with the appropriate hostname in your environment.

Log in to Continuum, and select Canvas - > Canvas Editor from the upper-right menu.

When working with most Canvas resources, the editor is usually in "text editor" mode. However, when you select an image in the resource browser, the editor changes to "image manager" mode.

Referencing Images

Images are stored in the Canvas repository, and are easily accessed using a unique URL.

/images/project/component/name.png

For example, if you put an image in the examples Project and the icons Component, and named it smiley.png:

/images/examples/icons/smiley.png

To reference an image in a Layout, use a standard html image tag.

<img src="images/examples/icons/smiley.png" />

To add a new image to the repository:

  1. Click the New Item button, or the + beside a Project or Component
