Release Highlights

TeamRoom

  • Dedicated team-based environment simplifies and supports the daily activities of agile development teams.
  • Track work items from backlog to done in the same interface with the ability to see what you’re working on now, what’s coming next, and what’s been completed.
  • Display the information panels that matter most, including Storyboards and Taskboards, latest project-related changes, and Conversations.
  • Create a personalized environment with avatars and mascots, visualize your team’s progress with velocity metrics and burndown charts, and set your own team-based WIP limits.

Kanban Board Improvements

  • Card Aging: Monitor time in status and time in cycle to quickly identify stalled stories. Visual cues indicate when aging thresholds have been exceeded.
  • WIP Group Limits: set WIP limits that span multiple contiguous columns. Combine queue and process WIP limits to maximize your flow of work.

Agile Visualization

  • Relationship Visualization: Understand the relationships and dependencies between your epics, stories, tasks, and tests by visualizing the full context of what you’re working on.
  • Epic Visualization: See how business initiatives break down into epics, sub-epics and stories, providing a top-down view that helps you visualize how everything fits together.

Project Summary Trend Reporting

  • Project Summary Trend reporting provides key metrics for project teams and consolidated KPI figures for all projects across the organization.

Timesheet Integration with CA Clarity for Project Portfolio Management (PPM)

  • Demand Management: Manage your project intake process with Clarity PPM and initiate agile projects in VersionOne when ready.
  • Status Reporting: Summarize information from VersionOne projects to keep senior management informed about agile projects without the overhead of double entry.
  • Resource Management: Use time-tracking from VersionOne to update Clarity PPM timesheets so that senior management can understand capacity without the burden of double entry.

Watch the Release Video to learn more

Release Highlights

The Summer 2012 release delivers customizable story cards to help you radiate the most valuable information on your boards, and the ability to print story cards directly from VersionOne:

  • Display fields on your story cards including priority, estimate, custom field data, avatars and/or progress bars.
  • Select and print Story/Task/Test cards directly from VersionOne to use as physical cards. QR codes let you access the full details of each card from your smart phone and make updates.

We’ve also further enhanced VersionOne’s strategic planning capabilities with the following:

  • The new Epic Bubble Chart displays business value and risk on the axes with the bubble size representing your SWAG estimate. Drill down on each bubble for more detail.
  • You can now relate multiple work items to an epic using multi-select.
  • Associate defects and test sets to epics.

Platform Enhancements:

  • Support for Eclipse 4.2
  • New integration with qTrace from QASymphony – this is a desktop application that allows you to capture screens/data and submit them as defects directly to VersionOne.

Analytics Enhancements:

  • Analytic Grids now contain links back to VersionOne instance with the Title and ID for Stories, Defects, TestSets, Tasks, and Tests linking to the corresponding details page in VersionOne.
  • Epic Trend Report: track how long epics are sitting in each state of your workflow process, the split between planned and interrupt-driven work, and the volatility in epic size over time.

VersionOne Spring 2012 Release Now AvailableUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).

Release Highlights

Customizable Epic Cards: Enhanced configuration options let ScrumMasters radiate the specific information that each team wants to see.

Epic Value Flow: Cumulative flow diagrams typically measure the number of items or the cost of those items flowing through a process, not the *value* those items deliver to the business. The Epic Value Flow option allows product managers to see and demonstrate what value has been delivered so far, what is stuck in process, and where they should push to optimize the flow of value to the organization.

Better Visibility for Links & Attachments: Links and attachments provide clarity and important contextual information for Epics. These assets are now easily accessible from downstream epics and stories, providing guidance and context to developers building out the sprint-level deliverables.

Getting Started Resources: If you’re new to VersionOne the updated ‘Getting Started’ page helps you get up to speed faster. Embedded video content and useful resource links provide the guidance new users need to quickly get started.

Self-service password resets: Self- service password resets takes the burden of these requests off of system administrators.

Policies on Storyboards: Ensure process consistency by creating and attaching policies to each Storyboard. Policies are an embodiment of team norms and are used to provide process guidance to team members as they move cards.

Detailed release notes including additional new capabilities are also available.
