Why can't I edit a story?

This feature is available in all editions.



Possible reasons why you can't edit a story and solutions.


There are a number of reasons that you may not be able to edit a story. Check to see if any of the following conditions may be the cause:

Are all stories in that project read-only or only some of them?

Verify your project role grants access to the project in which the story sits (look at the *story's project*, which may be different from the project you currently have selected). See what project the backlog item is in. Then, pull up your member details page and see your project role for that project.

Is the story closed?

If Yes, you can reopen it, and then edit the story as needed.

Is the story in a closed sprint/iteration or project?

If Yes, you can reopen the sprint or project, and then edit as needed.
