Using the Customer-Facing Ideas Site

This feature is available in Ultimate edition only.


The customer-facing Ideas system provides a simple interface where customers (or users) can provide feedback on future development activities. 

Registration is not required in order to browse existing ideas in public forums and tabbed views. If you want to provide feedback, you must first sign up/register and confirm your account by email. Your Ideas login is NOT related to any Agility login accounts.

Accessing Ideas

To access Ideas, use the URL provided in your invitation email or contact the organization's support team for additional assistance.

Signing Up for Ideas

  1. Click the Sign Up link, and then enter the required information.

  2. Click OK.

  3. When you receive your confirmation email message, follow the instructions to confirm your account. Once confirmed, you can begin using Ideas.

Browsing Ideas

A series of tabs display across the top of the page the Ideas pages. Click on a tab to browse the list of ideas sorted by date, popularity, number of votes, status, and so on.

  • Latest
    Shows the list of the most recent ideas.
  • Hot
    Ranks ideas based on the amount of recent activity surrounding an idea, including both votes and comments.
  • Top
    Ranks ideas by number of votes.
  • My votes
    List the ideas that that you have voted on.
  • Planned
    Shows the customer-submitted ideas that have been pulled into the organization's development planning process.
  • Completed
    Shows the customer-submitted ideas that have been completed.

Searching for an Idea

To search for an existing idea, type your keywords in the Tell Us Your Idea box, and then click Search. The search result displays the list of ideas matching your entry. Click on an idea title to view details.

Submitting a New Idea

  1. Enter a keyword in the search field to see if the idea already exists.

  2. If not, click Create Your Idea.

  3. Enter the details in the What is your idea? window, and then click Create Idea.

    • You have 20 minutes to edit your idea after you create it. Click the edit your idea link in the Need to edit your idea box to the right.

Voting for an Idea

  1. Enter a keyword in the search field to see if the idea already exists.

  2. If so, click on the idea title, and then click on the Vote for button in the top left circle.
    Note: The ideas that have received the highest number of votes display in the hot or top tab at the top of the page. Click on the my votes tab to see all of the votes you submitted.

Commenting on an Idea

Follow these steps to add details to an existing idea (example: alternatives, examples, or other relevant information):

  1. Locate an idea by searching or by browsing through the tabs.

  2. Click on an idea title, and then enter your comments in the Comments box.

  3. Click Submit.

Flagging an Idea as Inappropriate

If you see an idea that is inappropriate, you can notify the Ideas administrator by flagging it. Simply click on the Flag icon to the right of the comment.

Changing Email Notification Settings

If email notifications are configured, you will automatically receive email notifications when the status of an idea changes or when someone comments on an idea you commented or voted on.

Opting Out of Email Notifications

If you don't want to receive notifications, you can opt out following these steps:

  1. Click on your name in the top right corner of any page.

  2. Click Stop Email Notifications.

Opting In to Email Notifications

If you previously opted out of email notifications, you begin receiving them following these steps.

  1. Click on your name in the top right corner of any page.

  2. Click Receive Email Notifications.
