Startup Experience

Reset Password

The login page now includes a Forgot Password option. Users with an email address entered in their member profile can now request a password reset by entering either their username or email address. The system generates a temporary password, emails that to the user and allows them to regain access to their account.

Invite Users

Rolling in a new team to your VersionOne application? The Invite Users process just made your job easier. From the Administration > Members page, you can choose to invite new users to your system by entering a minimal amount of information (project, role, and a list of email addresses). The system will email invitations to the users and will prompt them to update their profiles when they first log in.

Note: not available in Team or Catalyst editions.

Getting Started

The Getting Started page is the first view a new user sees of the application after logging in. This view has been updated to focus on introductory materials that can best help the new user get up and running quickly.

Import

The .xls import page now includes helpful pointers for setting up and importing your data. It also includes access to an advanced import template that allows one to import other assets just the basic workitems included in the basic template.

Agile Portfolio Management Updates

The Agile Portfolio Management functionality grows stronger with this release in the form of a number of smaller updates, some of which have been rolled out in point releases.

Customizable Epic Cards

Epicboard customization takes another leap forward with the addition of customizable cards. Each board can have it's own display settings, allowing different project teams and different levels in the planning hierarchy to display the fields that they need. Choose from any field type except rich text fields, including any custom fields you define on epics. The customizable portion of the card includes the lower left, the lower right and the tab display.

Value Flow Report

Take a big step in the lean direction by tracking the flow of value your organization is producing. The new Value option on the Epic Cumulative Flow report will turn your report into a Value Flow report. The Value Flow utilizes the Epic Value Scale data to help teams and organizations focus on optimizing the flow of value by highlighting where high value items are getting hung up in the process.

Epic Updates

Inherited Links and Attachments

Context is always important when building systems. When viewing more detailed epics and stories, you can now see the additional context of big picture summaries by viewing links and attachments from higher level epics. These inherited relationships are now visible on the details page of epics and the stories below them, with appropriate labels to indicate the higher level epic to which they are related.

Special Upgrade Note

The Spring 2012 release requires a full re-load of the data mart database. To accomplish this the Data Mart Setup program will drop and re-create the data mart database. After your upgrade is complete, we recommend you manually run the Data Mart ETL from the command-line using the /mode:Full option (VersionOne.DatamartLoader.exe /mode:Full). This load will take longer than a typical incremental load, so please plan accordingly. Finally, if you are upgrading an instance of VersionOne Ultimate, you need to upgrade Data Mart and Analytics before running the data mart ETL.

  • Customizable list values
  • Issue tracking
  • Sprint Review
