Adding a Portfolio Item to a Roadmap

Overview

This article explains how to add a new portfolio item on the Roadmaps page.

Option 1: Quick Add

  1. From the main menu, select Portfolio Planning > Roadmaps.

  2. If not already selected, choose a project from the Project Navigator.

  3. Click on the Board or Timeline layout button.

  4. Click on the plus icon in the bottom corner of a column, enter a title, and then press Enter.

    • This saves the portfolio item to the view. 

    • When using a Group By to create rows, the grouping designation will also be saved automatically for the new item.

  5. Click on the newly created item to view details and adjust/edit as needed, OR use the Portfolio Tree page to edit multiple items at once after they are entered.

Option 2: Portfolio Item with Details

  1. From the main menu, select Portfolio Planning > Roadmaps.

  2. If not already selected, choose a project from the Project Navigator.

  3. Click on the Board or Timeline layout button.

  4. Select Publish > Add Portfolio Item.

  5. Enter the portfolio item details, and then click Save.

The Quick Add feature was added in the Winter 2017 (17.0) release. It is not available in older versions of Lifecycle.
