Why do I receive an error message in Microsoft Project 2007 when importing .mpx files from Lifecycle?

This feature is available in all editions.

What's happening

I have an .mpx (Microsoft Project 2007) file that I exported from Lifecycle. When I try to open it in Microsoft® Project, I receive this import error message:

Check row xx column yy.
"Whatever" does not exist.
Click "whatever" in the list, and then press Enter.
To continue import with additional error messages, click Yes.
To continue importing with no error messages, click No.
To stop importing, click Cancel.

The Lifecycle Microsoft Project export file saves the data in Microsoft Project 2007 format.

How to fix it

When prompted, click No to ignore the messages and continue importing the data. This error does not impact your imported data.
