Building and Managing the Backlog

This feature is available in all editions.


The Backlog page shows a flexible, editable list (or grid) of all of the work to be completed in a project/release and scheduled in a sprint/iteration. Here, you can add, edit, filter, sort, categorize, and prioritize the work items associated with a project and all of its sub projects.

Accessing the Backlog

To access the Backlog page, select Product Planning > Backlog.


There are many interwoven relationships between Lifecycle system assets. Refer to the Asset Model Diagram to view a layout of these assets, showing their interrelationships (e.g., member roles and ownership, what projects and sprints contain, releases and schedules, which assets generate backlog items, which assets track and verify backlog items).
